1. Dennis Cooverman, a newly graduate from Buffalo Grove High School, declares his love for Beth Cooper in his unexpected and embarrassing graduation speech. During his speech he points out all of his bullies and upsets various students except Beth Cooper. Dennis has been in love with Beth Cooper since he sat behind her in junior high. After his speech, Beth informs Dennis that she thought it was sweet. After her confession Dennis sums the courage to ask her to assist his party. Rich, Dennis's best friend, tells him to stay calm and collected when or if Beth shows up to the party. Beth shows up along with her friends Cammy and Treece. They mess around and Beth's boyfriend, Kevin an off duty army soilder, comes uninvited to turn the party upside down. He chases Dennis and Rich upstairs, until they decide to jump out of the window. As they escape and reunite with Beth and her friends, Dennis sees that Beth is not the perfect girl he had thought about for so long. The gang head to Old Tobacco Road, where they encounter Dennis's parents having coitus. Then the group assist Valli Wooly's, a shallow rich girl, party. Kevin encounters Dennis once more and beats him up a bit until Beth crashes Kevin's Humvee into the house itself and the group escapes. Beth decides to go their high school and shower nakedly next to each other. Once again, Kevin and his gang show up to ruin Dennis's chances to get with Beth. As they close up on Dennis and Rich, Rich shows his wet towel skills and whips Kevin and his crews ass. Dennis and Beth's group escape to Treece's father's cabin where they all drink some beer. Cammy and Treece get funky with Rich if you know what I mean. Beth and Dennis almost do it before Kevin shows up again and tortures Dennis while Cammy calls the cops. Rich distracts Kevin with a rifle inside of Treece's cabin; this buys Dennis time to swim into the lake. The police show up and arrest Kevin and his group, while the other cop drops off Dennis and Beth. Dennis' dad tells him that it was worth it.
2. This book has one theme that has various forms. Be careful for what you wish for. Don't judge a book by its cover. Everything is not as it seems. Those are the themes that come to mind when I finished reading this book.
3. The thing that got my attention towards this book was the movie. Although I didn't watch the whole movie, it seemed funny and realistic. The reason I kept reading this book was because it was very funny.
4. Yes I did find this book realistic because I was in this situation for some time. I thought this girl was nice and kind based on her looks; turns out she was very crude and had a low self esteem.
5. Rich is always quoting famous actors when he speaks. Sorry, but his quotes don't come to mind, but this is an example of allusion. The theme would have to be comedy, heart, and romance. Romance: Dennis is in love with Beth Cooper. Comedy: Dennis is constantly in pain or embarrassing situations. Heart: Dennis finally realizes that Beth isn't the one for him and takes it like a man.
6. The author describes Dennis as a skinny, weak, sweaty, and nerdy. That's direct characterization.
Beth is seen as perfect in Dennis' eyes, but as the story progresses the author depicts Beth as a slut in a way. Lasting impressions of Dennis and Beth is that not to judge someone by their looks instead by their actions.
7.The protagonist is dynamic but starts out static for some time until almost the end. Dennis went from being skinny, short, and nerdy to being thicker, taller and less nerdy.
8. Met a person that I know.
